From the Perth office to remotest WA, CSI’s online database has become its most valuable asset.
With the mining boom boosting demand for Crushing Services International (CSI), the urgent need for a web-based database grew with the business. There was no system to accurately record and track the daily location, usage and availability of machinery and vehicles.
Within two months, we had constructed and successfully launched a comprehensive user-friendly system linking all key elements and capturing relevant information efficiently. Capabilities and features of the new database include:
In training, it took less than five minutes for site personnel to learn how to log their hours, kilometres and faults in the maintenance section of the database. And now, it takes an average of just five minutes to enter hours on ten cranes.
The managers based in Perth can now easily locate every crane and instantly see when they’re available for rescheduling. In turn, on the ground in remote WA, it’s brought about dramatic improvements in asset utilisation, training, maintenance and health and safety.
“Rapid growth in our business meant we had enormous amounts of information to deal with. The new database hugely reduces the time it takes to manage so many assets and we can easily find information when we need it."
